Therapy cats

Cats can be used for therapies. They can be trained to help people relax and heal. They provide comfort and affection to people in hospitals, retirement houses or nurse houses. Cats can keep company, helping with loneliness and even help with some phobias or depression. Not every cat can become professional therapy cat. They have to be friendly, calm, patient and be ready to work with adults, kids and elderlies. However, cats can help people even if they are not therapy cats. Vibration of their purring is used to heal anxiety, depression and other disorders. Cats help relax and cope with stress. They can calm nerves and lower blood pressure. Therapy cats help treat and prevent cardiovascular diseases, cancer or chronic pain. To sum up, cats are used for therapies and can make people relax or help with their healing.   link: https://www.catsnap.org/info/display?PageID=18922#:~:text=Therapy%20cats%20have%20been%20used,both%20memory...

How smart cats are?

Cats are far more intelligent than people may realize. Each part of cat’s brain is divided into sections and connected to the other parts, which allows cat to understand and respond to its surroundings. Cats have more nerve cells in visual areas of their brain, than humans or other mammals. These areas are responsible for decision-making, problem-solving, language-processing, memory and planning. That’s why cats are good with associating things with certain memories. For example, they won’t be happy seeing their owner packing a suitcase, because they remember that last time owner left them for long time after packing suitcase. It’s hard to say how smart cats are, because they are refusing to take part in experiments or don’t follow the instructions. Cats even if they understand commands simply choose not to follow them. It’s still hard to say how clever cats are, but it is obvious that they are really intelligent animals.   link:...

Tricolour cats

Tricolour cats are in most cases female. That’s because gene for black and gene for orange colour are carried by chromosome X. Females’ combination of sex chromosomes is XX, while males’ combination is XY. Female cats have two chromosomes X, which means they have two chromosomes with colour code. Male cats have one chromosome X, so they have one chromosome that can carry colour. Chromosome Y has no colour genes. Tricolour cats appear when gene responsible for black colour and gene responsible for ginger colour are carried by chromosomes. However male cats can also be tricolour. It can happen when Klinefelter’s Syndrome occur. In that situation they have XXY combination. This Syndrome is really rare and, in most cases, can cause worse health than in normal cat. To sum up, tricolour cats can be males, but in most cases, they are females. link: https://www.thesprucepets.com/are-calico-cats-always-female-3384568
