Why is it hard to admit we’ve been wrong?

It’s hard to admit we’ve been wrong, because we feel that being wrong is bad thing. During our life we make mistakes and it shouldn’t be anything wrong, but we still feel bad after making one. It’s because we are afraid of reaction from people around us, more specifically bad reaction. For example most of the teachers want us to always know correct answers, which is not possible. They get angry when we don’t know answer for their question or when we answer wrong. Because of situations like that we started associating being wrong with something bad. It’s hard to admit we’ve been wrong, because we are scared of making mistakes.
