Cat coat patterns and colours

The colour and pattern range of cats is pretty wide. Main colours of cats are white, black, ginger, grey, greyish blue, cream, brown, cinnamon and fawn, colour similar to the colour of sand. Beyond the colours cats can have different patterns. When cat have only one colour, they have solid coat type. When they have two colours, they are bi-colour cats. The most common pattern is tabby.  Mix of ginger or black is called tortoiseshell and mix of ginger, black and white is called tri-colour or calico. When cat has darker fur on the face, paws and tail is considered as colour point cat. To sum up, cats can have different colours and patterns and there are plenty of them, some of them are basic like solid cats, while others are more complicated like tri-colour cats or colour point coat type.
