Cat language
Cats communicate not only with their voice, but also with their body. There are several ways they communicate. First one is vocalizing. Cats use meows, purrs, growls and hisses to express emotions, especially domestic ones. They can also do it with their ears. Forward-facing ears mean cat is interested and the more ears turn sideways and backwards, the bigger distress of the cat. Cats communicate using eye talk and tail talk, which can be sometimes confusing for people to understand. They can show their emotional state or health condition with their fur. Suddenly fluffed coat can mean fear or aggression, while unkempt fur can indicate that cat is ill, since cats are self-grooming animals. Smells and scents are really important for cats, because they are territorial. With their scents they mark territory. That’s why cats often rub against furniture and people. They also employ urine and faces marking. To sum up, cats communicate with their voice and body language and with both they express their emotions.

The scent is particularly strong and unpleasant. And it stays where the cat has left it forever.
