Earthquake in Indonesia killed 162 people

              Earthquake on Indonesia’s main island of Java killed at least 162 people. Earthquake caused buildings to collapse and triggered landslides. Most of the people that died in this catastrophe were children. Many of them were students that were taking extra lessons. Local hospital was overwhelmed by number of victims, some injured were treated outside, laying on mattresses and blankets on the ground as they were given oxygen masks and IV drips. Many buildings were destroyed, including an Islamic boarding school, a hospital and other public facilities. Rescue workers and volunteers searched for victims, trapped or injured under collapsed buildings. People are scared to stay at home, some of them sleep outside. It is really horrifying how many people lost their lives, because of the earthquake. So many young people ended their lives too early.

300 villagers killed in massacre by rebels

                About 300 people died in an attack on villagers in eastern Democratic Republic of Kongo. The army accused the M23 rebel group of killing at least 50 civilians in Kishishe village, before the government put number of dead at more than 100. Insurgents has rejected accusations and said that 8 civilians were killed due to “stray bullets”. Government spokesman Patrick Muyaya said that all of the victims were civilians and that at least seventeen of them were children. He also said that it is difficult to break down the data in full given the area was as he said “under M23 occupation”. M23 or the March 23 rd movement is a rebel group that was dormant for years. It took up arms again in November last year. Lucy, first full-time court dog in Australia

        The labrador called Lucy provides support as Australia’s first full-time court dog. Lucy is five-year-old chocolate labrador, that provides support for people in court. Court dogs are really helpful to vulnerable people, such as children, victims of domestic violence and those from different cultural backgrounds. Scientific research is showing that dogs can have positive psychological and physiological effects for humans. Science tells that presence of a dog, that is trained for the justice environment, can reduce anxiety and cortisol levels. Lucy is trained to be calm and supportive in any stage of legal matter, for both - children and adults. It is really amazing how a pet can not only be friend, but also mental support. Three boys dead after falling into Solihull lake

              Three boys died after falling into icy Solihull lake. Eight, ten and eleven-years old boys are dead after they fell through thin ice at the lake near Solihull in the West midlands. A fourth bot, aged six, was transported to the hospital in critical condition after the incident on Sunday afternoon. All kids were in cardiac arrest when they were pulled from the lake . They were given immediate life support by ambulance and fire service personnel before being rushed to two hospitals. They all arrived there in critical conditions. Families of the children are devastated. It is really sad that these young boys lost their lives. It is the warning to all people that it is dangerous to play on ice, especially because we never know what is going to happen.
